Tattoos have always been counterculture, a sign of rebellion that has rarely been featured on the runway. They historically prohibit conventional modeling and professional growth. The Fashion of Flesh questions the norms of the fashion world and our society at large by showcasing what has long been considered underground or taboo.

A tattoo is a permanent representation of both the wearer and the artist. It is an accessory worn for life and is a style unto itself. And now we can finally give this fashion form the recognition it deserves. Join us during Pittsburgh Fashion Week to see and celebrate one of a kind tattoos in a one of a kind event.

The event starts with light food and a cash bar as the guests arrive. Once the show begins, local drag queen and tattoo fanatic Cherri Baum guides everyone through our multiple lines of models. Our judges rate each tattoo as it appears and decide who will win the titles of Best Chest Piece, Best Back Piece, and Best Sleeve. After the runway show is over and the winners have been decided, stick around for a special performance by one of Pittsburgh's hottest underground acts, Samurai Velvet.

The Fashion of Flesh plans to be the season's hottest fashion show NOT about fashion.

We are partnered with the Pittsburgh Downtown CDC, the non-profit organization responsible for Pittsburgh Fashion Week. Click below to find out more about the Downtown CDC and PFW 2019.

AND FLESH

Our models are all local amateurs who are baring their ink-covered skin. This show turns the focus from the clothes to the models themselves.

If you are interested in modeling, click below to be taken to a short form and we'll be in touch. Applications close August 16.
